how to find your true selfFinding  your real self can be a daunting & exhausting task. It demands understanding of your personal aspirations, your emotions and even your spiritual values. It also entails knowing how best to fulfill the requirements you want in life. Self-discovery leads to having a long-lasting peace of mind, happiness, and you will have the tendency to feel content. To a large extent, we are able to acquire knowledge, develop talent and skills in areas that we are comfortable in handling.

The first step towards knowing yourself is to look at the needs of your soul. It is important to note that we are not just a body but rather an inner self comprised of the soul that also yearns for satisfaction. Research has it that the soul is immortal. We are not a body with a spirit but a spirit with a body. The sooner you realize that, the easier it will be to uncover your true self.

You should always aspire to remain connected with yourself and  move away from distractions that may come from outside. Not everything out there is worth our attention. In most cases, our attention is drawn to meeting outward desires, and more often than not, these desires do not truly fulfill us.

Frequently, satisfaction of one of these external desires leads to another one cropping up. We are never satisfied. In most instances, we are busy with the desire to meet needs of the body, and this is what makes us lose the self.

Taking time to meditate will help you become more aware and know yourself better. It is a practice that can help us discover ourselves better.

It’s time to start looking in the mirror, to start falling in love with who we are at our core. Stop comparing yourself. Stop falling for bogus outside influences that can’t even hold a candle to your flame.

Clear yourself & your space of negative energy & emotions. Sage the damn house, if you need to. That negativity…it clouds our judgement & throws us off our path to discovering our inner self.

Another thing that will help you discover your real self is having commitment towards life. It sounds almost too simple, right? To just commit to life. I mean, we’re already living & breathing…that alone is commitment.

But we weren’t created just to exist & breathe, although we should be grateful always for those very things.

Commitment gives us a very good opportunity to have a broader view of life. When we are committed in life, we tend to focus on intangible values like love honesty and sacrifice. We become content when we love others, make other people be happy, share the worries of others. These activities to a large extent help you to identify your inner needs.

If there’s only one thing you can do today to get closer to discovery of self, it’s to just commit to it

Having a deep insight into you is vital to having a meaningful and reasonable life. It helps add value & makes a better you. And who doesn’t want that?
