6 Ways To Boost Your Mood And Energy Fast
Mamas…I’m tired. I know you are, too. But beyond just the physical tired, there is a tired that goes beyond the body into the depths of your very soul.
Mental & emotional exhaustion are both very much real as well. There are times when you feel low… times when you feel totally unproductive and of no use to anyone. And to be completely honest, I feel this way at least once a day.
There are several things that can depress you in this manner, but what you have to realize is that problems aren’t the end of the world. So far, you’ve survived 100% of your worst days…I’d say the odds are in your favor, sis.
You have to rise from the ashes like a phoenix and get back to your grind. If you feel that it is very difficult to pull yourself together when you are feeling low, here are some stress-busters that can help get you back on track.
Listen to Music
Listening to music works therapeutically for most people. Whatever your particular taste in music is, listen to that. See if today’s daily mix on Spotify is poppin. Listen to your favorite song; maybe see if there’s a video for the visual stimulation. This can cheer you up in a jiffy.
Play a game on your phone
If you like games on your phone, this could be a great way to manage your stress. Plants vs Zombies, anyone? Or maybe you’re a Candy Crush veteran. It is not just an FPS that can set those hormones running within you; even simple strategy games can do it for you if you like them. The point is to make your mind happy, not excited. So, choose the game you like, channel your inner kid and play on.
Speak to a friend
Most times, if you just share your sorrows with someone, you can do well at managing them. Call the one person you trust more than anyone else and tell them what happened. They will listen to you. Do not fear reprimand or ridicule. Don’t feel like you’re burdening them. That won’t happen. If they are your true friend, they will hear you out and even tell you what you should do. Or if you’re not in the mood for advice, if nothing else, they will be the greatest listening ear & a solid shoulder to cry on.
Perform an act of kindness
The last thing you wanna do when you’re unhappy is to go out of your way to make someone else happy, right? I get it. I totally get it. But, have you ever done something nice for someone & not only did it make their day but it gave you a smile on your face as well? Yeah, well there’s some science to that. Trust me on this. And who doesn’t want good karma in return?
Go out for a walk
Move your body! If you are stressed, sitting inside and brooding is only going to make matters worse. What you need to do is to go out, and let it all out. Take a whiff of the air outside and you will find your problems slowly dwindling away. There’s just something about nature that has a calming effect on the mind. More importantly, you can give it some thought and put things in a better perspective. This helps as well.
Busy yourself with something
When you are trying to work out your stress, the one thing you should try to do is to divert your mind. You have to busy yourself with something that you can put your heart and soul to. This could be your work or do something creative that you were long meaning to do. You know what I like to do? Clean. Decluttering is a really great way to help clear your mind. This can divert your mind in a very profound manner, and you will find that you are slowly but steadily coming out of your stress.
If you want to improve your mood, you have to take deliberate steps to clear your mind & get back focused on the things that truly bring you joy. Distractions can be dangerous when you’re on the path to better health.
